JKUAT donates books worth Ksh. 4.2 million to schools and colleges in Juja Sub-County

As part of our contribution to society’s development, JKUAT today donated textbooks worth Ksh. 4.2 million to neighboring primary & secondary schools and tertiary institutions as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility in a ceremony attended by DVC Research Production and Extension (RPE), Prof. Esther Kahangi who represented the Vice-Chancellor in the function. Other guests included Registrar AA, Dr. Esther Muoria, Registrar RPE, Registrar RPE Mr. Chege Kamau, University Librarian, Dr. Roselyne Mang’ira, JKUSA President Mr. Anyangu, teachers, students and pupils from invited the schools and colleges.

Vice Chancellor Prof. Mabel Imbuga in a speech read on her behalf by Prof. Esther Kahangi DVC (RPE) said the donation was aimed at strengthening learning and teaching in the beneficiary institutions. She urged the recipients to effectively utilize the materials as part of inculcating the desirable culture of technological innovation among the youth.

The donation targeted selected educational institutions in Juja Sub-County. Juja Sub-County director of Education helped in selecting the schools and colleges that benefited from the consignment.

Chief Education Officer for Juja sub-county, Ms Kanana Muriungi, speaking during the donation ceremony thanked JKUAT for the gesture and highlighted that the donation would benefit over 10, 000 learners in the sub-county.
