Land Resources Planning and Management first year students had a training session in the library on Tuesday 20th March. The second session of the training with the same group will be on 27thMarch 2012. The training was carried out during their communication skills class. This is a move in the right direction given that this is the first time students have been brought for a practical library class. Kudos to Madame Naomi! We hope to see more of this as students get equipped with practical information search skills for life long learning.
This will ultimately improve the quality of their research and learning as they get exposed to the full spectrum of the information resources available for them. The habit of going to Wikipedia which is not a scholarly and authoritative site whenever they are doing their term papers will hopefully come to an end.
