JKUAT in her endeavour to meet her vision of being a global institution of excellence in Training, Research and Innovation for development invites proposals for the annual research grant programme. The objective of this research fund is to enable staff members participate in research and innovation alongside teaching, in line with the University strategic plan which encourages staff participation in research, innovation and community work among other development activities.
This is a competitive research grant programme managed by RPE for members of staff only. The proposals must be geared towards generating products/solutions that answer to the needs of the society and compliant with the theme above. Multidisciplinary research proposals will receive more favourable consideration. Staff members with on-going JKUAT funded research projects are not eligible.
Budget and Funds Allocation
The proposal budget should not exceed KES. 1.5 Million per year. Each proposal will be funded for a maximum period of 3 years based on progress reports, intellectual property audit reports and recommendations from Monitoring and Evaluation sub-committee. Successful applicants are expected to adhere to the project objectives,their approved budget, work plan and expected project completion date.
