Hope Inspired as AFRICA-ai-JAPAN Project marks 4th Joint Coordination Committee

During the 4th Joint Coordination Committee of the AFRICA-ai-JAPAN Project held on 22nd November, 2018, members recounted of the progress made during the year 2017/2018. The Project initiated in June, 2014, to strengthen scientific and technological foundation for sustainable socio-economic development in Africa through successful implementation of PAUSTI continues to register impressive results in its activities.

Speaking during the meeting, the Chairperson and JKUAT Vice Chancellor, Prof. Victoria Ngumi, noted that the project’s support has enabled JKUAT solidify its international standing as a strong model for scientific and technological research and innovation enabling PAUSTI emerge as a leading institute of the PAU. She further indicated that in the upcoming Graduation slated for 30th November, 2018, PAUSTI will host her fourth graduation ceremony.

On her part, Ms. Keiko Sano Chief Representative JICA Kenya Office, commended the Project implementation partners for the unity of purpose that had enabled AFRICA-ai-JAPAN Project to achieve her objectives. During the meeting, one-year extension of the Project was proposed and accepted by the JCC members.
