iODaV Sub-Task Force activities

  • To offer infrastructure that enable and promote research data publication, preservation, sharing and reuse.
  • To establish an open research data ecosystem.
  • To enable and promote innovations based on open research data
  • To offer short trainings on data management, data curation, and data plan development.
  • To support and promote conformity with open data principles, standards and  JORD Policy
  • To support data analytics and visualization of research data.
  • To promote and enable multidisciplinary research activities.
  • To enable use and reuse of research data to accelerate innovations and achievement of the Kenya Vision 2030, and the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Kenya and the region
  • To host a Call Centre.
  • To link and be linked to other open data platforms.
  • To engage researchers to identify social problems their research data addresses and create APIs that ICT developers can use to innovate mobile applications that utilize the data.
  • Organize events that will stimulate demand and supply of open data such as annual/regular open data workshops and hackathons with prototypes as outputs.
