The following are the Laboratories, Conference Halls and top-notch Equipment that are housed within iPIC:
Instruction Room is basically used to provide basic instructions on the general activities offered at iPIC and to prepare students to use equipment and machines for problem solving. Mainly used by undergraduate students.
A specially furnished room designed to encourage free thinking among groups to generate new ideas and solutions around a specific domain of interest. Participants are able to think widely and suggest as many spontaneous new ideas as possible using a number of techniques including Rapid ideation, brain writing and figuring storming. The room is open to all Brainstorming activities
Here, facilities provide for the creation of objects as outputs from the brainstorming process. These objects can then be further subjected to evaluation before prototyping. Outputs are mainly in form of paper structures or electronic circuitry mounted on universal boards with components that can be reorganized to give desired characteristics. Accessible to undergraduate students.
This Laboratory provides facilities for rapid visualization of ideas. The solution may be in 2-D or 3-D in different materials such as wood, assorted plastics, and soft materials such as aluminium and brass. Mainly used by undergraduate students, and in some occasions, postgraduate students.
This Laboratory provides facilities to supplement rapid visualization of ideas developed in Rapid Prototyping Laboratory 1. Output of solution here are in Three Dimension (3D) which may be in different materials such as wood, assorted plastics, and soft materials such as aluminium and brass. Mainly used by undergraduate students, and in some occasions, postgraduate students.
This Laboratory provides access to programming and simulation softwares such as Matlab, Advanced 3D Structural and Design software (STAAD), and AnSYS that are useful in advanced system design and analysis. Usually, the lab is available to postgraduate students and senior members of staffs wishing to further their research activities.
Special 3D modeling softwares such as AutoDESK Inventor Professional are available here for researchers to model and simulate designs. High-end desktop computers provide the platform in which different simulation and testing may be carried out. Accessibility is for undergraduate and postgraduate students.
This is an ultra-modern Hall equipped with a Public Address System, a Projector and a Smart Board to host Conferences and Seminars. It is the last point of showcasing prototypes that Researchers have developed.
