29th June, 2018 will always be a memorable day for the Pan African University, Institute for Basic Sciences, Technology and Innovation (PAUSTI), as the first batch of PhD. students admitted in March 2015 graduated.
This was the 3rd graduation ceremony for PAUSTI and total of 14 PhD. degrees from 8 countries were awarded their degrees. In addition, 32 MSc from 16 countries were awarded degrees at the graduation ceremony.
During the dinner reception party for the graduates, one of the PhD. students remarked that ‘The hospitality of the institute was extraordinary.’ On the other hand, an MSc. student recalled, ‘The support received from the administrators were very good. As we go back to our own countries, we will aim to go higher and higher.’
With the obtained academic knowledge and skills, all the graduates of PAUSTI will return back to their respective countries and drive Africa’s development as PAUSTI alumni.
PAU is a flagship project of the African Union; founded in 2010 to promoted Africa’s socio-economic transformation and integration. It is implemented through a network of excellent universities based in the five nodes of Africa.
