Nagaoka College and Tohmatsu Collaborating with Ecodudu Company to Foster Eco-friendly Animal Feed Production

Ecodudu is a company that specializes in production of animal feeds using the black soldier fly based next to JKUAT. The Company has had set backs in the production system. The Students from Nagaoka College and Japanese Company Tohmatsu together with the Ecodudu team joined hands in March, 2019 to solve the production system problem.

The activities begun with a tour in JKUAT where the team from Ecodudu company and the students had a feel of the various technology and innovation in the campus in the field of  Agriculture and Engineering.

The team embarked on a tour to Ecodudu Company to acquaint themselves with the production system of the company and tested the machine prototype made based on the previous discussion of the problems facing the production systems.

During the two-day activity the students together with the Ecodudu Company team were able to develop a working prototype for separation of the black soldier fly larva. The company CEO expressed his gratitude with the hope that the improved larva separation will enhance the production capacity of the company.  He also conveyed interest on establishing more collaboration with JKUAT and Japanese team on various aspect of the feed production.
