Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) University Management Board through the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Mabel Imbuga, is sincerely grateful to the European Union for funding the “Strengthening the Kenya National Food Fortification Programme”. JKUAT is in collaborating with Ministry of Health and other partners to actualize fortification in the Country. This programme targets strengthening the food fortification capacity of maize milling industries in Kenya. Through this funding, a Kenya National Food Fortification Reference Centre will be established in JKUAT. It is hoped that compliance to fortification requirements by large, medium and small scale millers will reduce micronutrient deficiencies in the country.
