Prof. B. W. Ikua
Holds PhD, Design and Information Engineering, from Graduate School of Engineering, Tottori Engineering University, Japan. He Associate Professor of Mechanical Engineering, specializing in Precision Manufacturing, he has a wide experience in Manufacturing systems, including Machine design and development, maintenance systems, non-traditional manufacturing systems. He also has a wide management experience, and has worked both in industrial sector and academic sector.
He has held senior management positions including Head of department, Dean of school, Principal of college of Engineering and Technology and currently the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Administration). He has successfully supervised several postgraduate students (MSc, PhD) in areas of Industrial Machine design, Manufacturing, Mechatronics, Automation and safety. He has been involved in several linkages projects. He has also been involved in several funded innovation projects, including Development of a Rice Thresher, Development of an Electrical Discharge Machine, Clay grinder and a Blunger, among others. He has widely published in reputable journals and presented research findings in several international conferences. He is a Registered Professional Engineer and a Corporate member of Institution of Engineers of Kenya (IEK). He has participated in a wide range of funded projects including EU mobility scheme for postgraduate training.
Prof. Robert Kinyua

Associate Professor, Institute of Energy & Environmental Technology, Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology, Prof. Robert Kinyua holds a PhD in High Energy Physics from Osaka University, Japan. Prof. Kinyua is currently the Acting Deputy Vice Chancellor in Charge of Academic Affairs Division, and has conducted and supervised a significant body of research in various topics including thermal and bio- gasification using various feedstocks, cookstoves, waste management, wind and solar energy technologies.
Prof. John T. Githaiga
Stream Leader Textile and Fiber
Prof. Githaiga is an Associate Professor School of Engineering, Dept. of Manufacturing, Industrial and Textile Engineering, Moi University, and holds a PhD from University of Ghent, Belgium. He served as a member of the Board of Directors of Rivatex East Africa limited, and is the Acting Managing Director, Innovations Firm Ltd (owned by Moi University). He has technical and management experience in both industrial and academic sectors; previously chairman of Dept., Project Leader and later Programme Coordinator of the Belgian funded Flemish Inter-University Council – Institutional University Cooperation (VLIR-IUC). He has research and extension experience and has been involved in a number of funded projects: in coconut (PI for a coconut project with NACOSTI), cotton and silk value chains, and design of manufacturing systems. He has supervised several Masters and PhD students in fields of Textiles, Industrial and Materials Engineering.
Prof. Daniel Sila
Stream Leader Food and Beverage
Associate Professor, Department of Food Science and Technology at JKUAT, Kenya. Prof. Daniel Ndaka Sila holds a PhD in Bioscience Engineering from Katholieke Universiteit Leuven, Belgium and a MSc. in Post-harvest and Food Preservation Engineering from the same institution. Currently, he is the Project Manager for the European Union funded project on Food Fortification in Kenya (2017 - 2023), a collaborative effort between JKUAT and Ministry of Health, Kenya. He is also the Programme Coordinator (2017 - 2027) for the VLIR-UOS (Belgium) funded Legume Centre of Excellence for Food and Nutrition Security. With over 15 years’ experience on University – Industry linkages, Prof. Sila has also served as Chairman, Department of Agricultural and Resources Economics (2012- 2016) at JKUAT. He has published over 40 publications in peer-reviewed journals.
Ms. Caroline Anyango Oywer
Stream Leader Monitoring and Evaluation
Caroline Anyango Oywer is currently based in the Production and Innovations Directorate of the Research, Production and Extension Division at Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT), where she serves as a Monitoring and Evaluation Officer for JKUAT funded innovations among other departmental roles and duties. Ms. Oywer holds M.Sc. in Research Methods and B.Sc. in Mass Communication, both from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology. She specializes in agricultural information dissemination and works closely with small scale farmers in several projects.
Prof. Walyambillah Waudo
Stream Leader Beauty and Cosmetic
Holds a PhD from University of Kwa Zulu, Natal, South Africa Currently the Director of Chemistry Products Centre. This the hub of chemical research, innovation and also as an income generating unit mandated to manufacture quality chemical products e.g. beauty products and paints, he has over 30 years of teaching and research experience in diverse areas in electroanalytical chemistry, industrial chemistry and as well as environmental chemistry.
Eng. B. K. Kariuki
Stream Leader Intellectual Property
Eng. B. K. Kariuki is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, College of Engineering and Technology at JKUAT. He holds a MSc degree in Environmental Engineering from London South Bank University. He has previously served as an Engineer at the Ministry of Public Works in Kenya. Currently, he is the Director, Directorate of Intellectual Property and University-Industry Liaison at JKUAT.
Prof. Willy Muturi

Currently an Associate professor of Economics, Department of Economics, Accounting and Finance, Jomo Kenyatta university of Agriculture and Technology, PhD in Economics from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology. He has over 50 articles in refereed journals journals has wide experience in Economics, research and Policy Issues.
