JKUAT Open Access 2012 Beauty Pageant
The JKUAT Library once again partnered with Jomo Kenyatta University Model United Nations (JKUMUN) students club to bring us the JKUAT Open Access 2012 Beauty Pageant. This year’s pageant saw the excellence bar raised. The creativity showcased was simply astounding. The MCs for the day were Jeff, Moseti,. They set the ball rolling and from the onset it was pure entertainment. The event started with a beautiful salsa dance from the JKUAT salsa group. Pamela Ojiambo, a renown guest fashion designer also graced the function with her own team of models. The outfits were simply breath taking. Every size was well catered for. A group of JKUAT divas performed a Zulu dance with such finesse that they had us enquiring whether they were actually locals. After all the curtain raising, the moment we had all been waiting for came and all the beauty pageants did us proud. The pageant had themes like Casual, African and Ball room wear. The pageants also had opportunity to exercise their creativity with the Open Access theme. Congratulations to Mr. Lewis Kimani Kinyua and Miss Linet Kaguri Kigorwe who were crowned Mr. and Miss JKUAT Open Access 2012 respectively. A standing ovation is in order for all those who participated in the beauty pageant. Kudos to JKUMUN club led by Francis Moseti and Jeffrey Okundi, Festus Okumu and team. We also salute the current JKUSO chair Mr. Guyo for being in attendance through out the event. Thanks to all who made this year’s OAW pageant happen in style.
