Training on Use of E-Resources for JKUAT Physiotherapy students

The JKUAT library held a training in the library’s postgraduate computer laboratory on the use of e-books and e-journals for JKUAT fourth year students undertaking the Bsc Physiotherapy programme. The session was organised by their lecturer Dr. Nassib Tawa. Lecturers are encouraged to organise similar sessions for their students through the JKUAT library

The training aims at equipping students with online search skills that will enable them retrieve authoritative scholarly information for their research. This will ultimately improve the quality of their research

The students were introduced to the electronic databases of books and journals that JKUAT has subscribed to. Journal databases explored were Ebscohost Research Databases, Wiley online library that also covers Cochrane Library and Taylor and Francis Journals. E-book databases covered were Springer and Science Direct. The training covered issues such as principles basic and advanced search skills, referencing e-journal articles and books.
