Off Campus Access to Electronic Journals and Books

We are pleased to inform you that you can now access ALL library e-journals and books on and off campus. Previously, some resources such as springer ebooks, Taylor and Francis ebooks, JSTOR, Macmillan Journals, Sage Journals and Taylor and Francis and Wiley Blackwell could only be accessed within JKUAT main campus.
Access has been possible by installing Ez Proxy which is a software that facilitates remote access to electronic resources. The link to the proxy is accessible on the library website under E-Resources Off-Campus Access. Please email for your login details.

  1. Hello,
I tried registering for off Campus Access to e Journals and eBooks where I happened to send the specified details to ‘’ and haven’t received any confirmation regarding my request. I’m doing my studies from Embu and since the Examinations have already began I feel like I’m at a disadvantage sine I needed more online resources than those provided for I’m required to make my own research. Any assistance will be appreciated.

    • Hi Levi. You were previously required to email to for off campus access to journal databases that do not have usernames and passwords for off campus access. However, we have now created campus specific accounts. I hope you have the list of e-resources available for JKUAT students. Please visit your campus librarian for guidance and details of what is available for you. Databases with usernames and passwords do not require you to go through the off campus access

    • Hi Leah. Please visit the library ICT section or any of our Campus Librarians for details on all the journals available to you. A database like Emerald or EBSCOHOST may have what you are looking for.

    • Hi Edwin. We can’t post any login details online as they may be accessed by people who may not be authorized to do so. Please visit the library ICT section for the details or your campus librarian if you are not in main campus
