I welcome you to view the website of the Sustainable Energies, Entrepreneurship and Development (SEED) Project. This project is a joint initiative of the Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT), Kenya, in partnership with the Technical University of Munich (TUM), Germany. It is fully funded by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD).
The project timeline is 5 years spanning from August 2020, with a target of establishing a Living Lab in Olderkesi, Narok County. The Living Lab consists of a hybrid Solar-Biogas mini-grid, which presents a platform for research in renewable energy and entrepreneurship for postgraduate students. Additionally, the community will benefit from power generated through this mini-grid. SEED project is in collaboration with several partners including Ministry of Energy and Petroleum (MOEP) and Rural Electrification and Renewable Energy Corporation (REREC). We are working towards realization of the economic pillar of the Kenya vision 2030 and the global 7th Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) of providing access to affordable and clean energy for all. Once again we appreciate you for visiting JKUAT SEED Centre website and look forward to further interaction with you.
